How To Turn Microsoft Office Into Dark Mode?

Microsoft Office supports dark gray and black themes. Office apps won't be affected by Windows 10's systemwide dark mode. However, you can choose a dark theme for Office apps such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Microsoft will only allow you to use Office Dark mode if your Microsoft 365 subscription has expired (formerly Office 365). Official 2016 and Office 2013 can alter your theme to 'dark gray'. This is compatible with all Windows versions, including Windows 7, 8 and 10. Unfortunately, Office on Mac does not offer dark subjects.

To change your theme, click the "File” menu at the left-top corner of any Word, Outlook, PowerPoint or Excel application.

Click on the sidebar and click on "Account." To the right, open the dropdown menu for the Office Theme, then select the theme that you want to use.

In-Office 2016's default theme is "White". However, if you prefer to see whiter colors, you can choose "White".

You can also choose "Dark Gray" if you don't like the Black theme.

You can also select another "Office Background" from here. To view a design behind Office Ribbon Bar, click on "Office History" to choose 'No History'.

These themes and backgrounds affect all Microsoft Office applications. These themes and background settings can also be applied to Office applications on other Windows computers if you have the same Microsoft account.

You can also select your second theme. To locate it, click File > Options. Make sure the category "General", and then search for the area "Customize Microsoft Office Copy." Click on the "Office Theme Box" to choose the theme. Click "OK" to save your modifications.
